• Work about The King's Speech

I wanted to work on the relationship between Elisabeth II and her father. We will see their relationship before and after the coronation of George VI.

Initially, we see the young girl with her father. In the film we can see the complicity between Elisabeth and George VI. Elisabeth II was born on twentyfirst April 1926 and her true name is Elisabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. She is in the House Windsor dynasty. She has got a sister, Margaret. In the film I saw the comradeship with her father. Indeed, in a scene, he is reading a story to his children. His junior miss were well brought up because her father suffers from a stammer and they didn't laugh at him. It's the only scene between Elisabeth and George before the throne entry of him.

Later in the film, Albert of York becomes George VI. After his ascension on the throne, the relationship was changed. Additionnaly due to etiquette, Elisabeth can't be familiar with the king. In the movie there is scene about the change of attitude of the child. She can't call her father " Daddy " but she must to calling " Your Majesty ". Also, she had to do a bow and she had to respect conventions. The protocol cancels the harmony between the daughter and her father. That's more, in the scene when George sees Hitler, Elisabeth was a really young girl with her father. I can deduce that isn't a problem to keep the link regular.

I think, have a king to father it's complex..
